FuelType Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
FuelType (https://fueltype.myshopify.com) is run by Gabriel Busst, a sole trader based in the UK. We sell digital PDF downloads, including a free quiz PDF and paid PDFs. 2. What data we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, billing details, what you bought and when. Card details are handled by our payment providers; we never see your full card number.
- Email signup: your email address and, if you sign up after the quiz, a tag showing your quiz result so we can send relevant content.
- Contact and support messages: your name, email address and anything you tell us.
- Device and cookie data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and similar data collected by our store platform, subject to your choices in the cookie banner.

3. How we use your data and our lawful bases
- To process your order, deliver your downloads and provide support (contract).
- To keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
- To send newsletters and marketing emails (consent). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us.
- To keep the store secure, prevent fraud and understand how the store is used so we can improve it (legitimate interests). We only rely on this where our interests are not outweighed by your rights.
- To answer your messages (legitimate interests, or contract where it relates to an order).

4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, such as:
- Shopify, which hosts our store, checkout, customer records, email signups, digital downloads (Shopify Digital Products) and messaging (Shopify Messaging).
- Payment providers, such as Shopify Payments and the card and wallet providers you choose at checkout.
We may also disclose data where required by law, for example to HMRC.

5. International transfers
Shopify and some payment providers may process data outside the UK, including in Canada, the USA and the EU. Where this happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep data
- Orders and tax records: 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year.
- Marketing email data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Support emails and messages: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Abandoned checkout and other platform data: in line with Shopify's retention settings.

7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict how we use your data;
- data portability;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.

8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

9. Children
Our store and products are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Cookies
Our store uses cookies and similar technologies provided by Shopify. Essential cookies are needed for the store and checkout to work. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the banner or your browser settings.

11. Security
We rely on Shopify's secure platform, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and PCI-compliant payment processing, and we limit access to your data. No online service is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
